On film and TV shoots, there are rarely leftovers. In fact, good food stylists often compete with the caterers: Actors usually have to eat the food during their scenes, and the crew finishes off the scraps. While shooting a Chinese New Year scene for the show Fresh Off the Boat recently, actress Lucille Soong told Oliver, who was styling that episode, that she was going to skip lunch because she wanted to enjoy eating her food on camera. “That was pretty freaking flattering!” Oliver says.
MINI USA’s “the best test drive ever. Period.” campaign, created by butler, shine, stern and Partners, encouraged consumers to describe in six words a fantasy test drive of a Mini Coupe. The contest winner’s fantasy was made reality in a film that premiered online on MINI USA’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, as well as in cinemas nationwide. The campaign received 14,000 submissions, prompted MINI USA’s Twitter account to grow from zero to 19,000 followers in one month, and drove 6,000 consumers into 115 MINI USA dealerships—2,100 of which ended up purchasing a vehicle, all for a fraction of the cost of super bowl TV spots or celebrity endorsements.
However, if none of these factors cause angst or concern, and if you have the ability to sell anything to anyone, you could become a car salesman. It would be wise to keep in mind, however, that a car salesman is not only trying to sell a vehicle, he is also competing against everyone else with whom he works. It is not a friendly environment, but for those who possess the needed talents, it can be lucrative.
McLaren fired off a volley of amazing technical shots and this fantastic video, using wind tunnel effects to highlight the car’s aerodynamicas, then seeding the video out virally, eventually reaching 180,000 fans:
A private-party seller will probably allow you to do this without much resistance. Most dealerships will let you borrow a car to take to be inspected by an outside mechanic. You’ll be paying the inspection, of course. If it is a CPO car, there’s already been an inspection and a warranty is in place, so there is little reason to take it to a mechanic.
Let’s say I want to know what campaigns brought people to our pricing page because if they’re looking at how much our services cost, they’re probably a little bit interested. A look at our analytics shows that our blog and our automotive email marketing efforts were the ones that brought people all the way down this funnel to the place where they have to decide if they’re going to work with us or not.
Indeed, what is particularly notable about the current wave of innovation in automobiles is not so much the speed with which it has emerged (though that is remarkable) as the breadth of the innovation — how much it is altering the basic contours and features of the traditional automobile and amplifying the difficulty and cost of manufacturing cars. Ubiquitous electronics, a variety of digital services, and novel powertrains and connectivity systems are hastening the need for expensive new parts, components, and functions. For OEMs, the price tag is high — as much as 20 percent greater than the cost of the previous generation of automobiles.
Technical reasons have also impeded NEV development. As part of the country’s development scheme, China has designated 88 cities as NEV demonstration areas, in order to ramp up investment into the industry. The resulting effect, however, was that different cities ended up using different charging standards for NEV infrastructure, which is a crucial area of industry development; while NEV charging standard often differ on a global scale, inter-operability between cities such Beijing and Shanghai have dented the attractiveness of these purchases. In February 2017 China announced that it would build a further 800,000 NEV charging points for electric vehicles and that development plans for a unified national standard are underway, but without this crucial area of standardisation, NEV growth will remain muted.

While foreign and domestic brands continue to battle out for dominance in the traditional auto market, Chinese brands are emerging as the clear winner in the NEV market. A designation which includes electric vehicles as well as hybrid and fuel-cell automobiles, NEVs have emerged as a politically significant sector among policymakers: while the central government has included NEV development as an aspect of China’s various Five Year Plans since 2001, it was not until 2010 when the State Council, China’s cabinet, classified NEVs as a strategic emerging industry, a designation allowing investors to qualify for various incentive policies to help develop the sector. In 2012 the State Council unveiled a development plan, the Notice of the State Council on Issuing the Planning for the Development of the Energy-Saving and New Energy Automobile Industry (2012-2020) (1) (Guofa No.22),which aimed to get at least 500,00 electric and hybrid vehicles on China’s roads by 2015.
However, there is an opportunity for the local car dealership in this instance. As part of your content marketing strategy, you could publish content with the aim of buyers finding it in search engines, that assists them through each step of all five micro moments.
I was on this site and read previous posts on National Auto Academy I took the course with National Auto Academy in NY with a trainer Chi Li and but since was working in OH I had to make the choice of moving to OH. I like the academy because they helped me find a job once I moved and it helps being part of the alumni services. Now, I would suggest this if you are trying to get into the industry but if you are still questioning the industry know that the hours are long but the earning potential is great ie the more cars you sell the more money you make. you write your own paycheck. I love the industry because I was in jobs where my effort put in did not result in a bigger paycheck… Good Luck with your decision
This tool allows you to create a link that can be used throughout a campaign, whether it’s an email, a landing page, social media message, etc. This link will group all traffic and conversions. You can take things a step further by not only grouping by campaigns at a high level, but also by viewing the tools that had the greatest success. For example, you would see that the tires email brought 80% of the overall tires traffic while social media and landing page clicks only brought 20%.
UPDATE: Facebook is rolling out a feature that will see car dealerships with the opportunity to list on Facebook’s Marketplace. This is going to be a huge advantage to get your listings in front of your Facebook audience and allowing you to tailor messages. It will also give the consumer the opportunity to contact the dealership directly via Facebook Messenger.
I hear this question all the time “How Do I Become a Car Salesman”. So many people want to know how to be a car salesman, but they are uninformed about what it takes to sell cars for a living. The key phrase there was “for a living”. Becoming a car salesman is not complicated, but it isn’t mastered overnight.

Dealers want more automation, and these type of solutions can deliver a nearly automated process. This poses an interesting dilemma. Dealers may be seeking efficiency and productivity, but this doesn’t exclude them from managing the process and providing an exceptional in-store experience. This will accelerate the path to the sale, not guarantee 100% customer satisfaction.
Sometimes, though, the spit bucket is the only option. In season one of Game of Thrones, the character Daenerys Targaryen had to eat a whole horse heart. But the actress who plays her, Emilia Clarke, actually had to eat 28. They were made of solidified jam, which tasted like “bleach and raw pasta,” she told The Mirror. “It was very helpful to be given something so truly disgusting to eat, so there wasn’t much acting required. Fortunately, they gave me a spit bucket because I was vomiting in it quite often.”
But don’t think of us as just another set of automotive marketing consultants. We put our team to work on campaigns immediately, with little to no time wasted on your end. This is what separates us from our competition. We still spend time educating clients on best practices, but we don’t expect you to do the heavy lifting.
“My boss said NO!” I’m sure you’ve been told no by your boss before, but now you can finally make some money turning those no’s into car deals. Closing sales is fun and can be easy with this profitable sales closing technique. Sales closing technique when the boss says no.
That’s far too many, especially in the case of Chevrolet. When you think of a Chevy, what comes to mind? You might think of the Corvette or a truck like the Colorado or Silverado. But the image is fuzzy because GM has fractured the brand into so many pieces (including the Spark, the Cruze, the Volt, etc.) that some of those pieces wilt under the glare of auto retail inspection.
Take advantage of that. It likely comes with a lot of content from corporate that you can use while you learn to personalize for your market. Chevrolet provides a tool called Digital Traffic Generator from Agency 720 that I use every day.
Vehicles will know when parts are about to break and even have the ability to order a new part for preventative maintenance. (“Alexa, please order me new wiper blades!”) Updates regarding your destination will alert you before of your arrival. Construction and emergency data will notify you of potential changes ahead.
Manage used-car values. Most manufacturers today have some sort of certified used-car program, although the programs vary in effectiveness. These programs are critical to managing the risk of large losses from infiated lease residuals that have become commonplace, and to minimizing the huge cost of incentives.
Uber guy came in the other day looking for a second hand car. Then one of my manager pointed out one car and told him you should get that car because its in a books. What is mean, “the car is in the books”?
