Extending your brand throughout the community is important, especially if you’re competing with major dealerships who have acres of space. But these benefits cannot be realized fully without managing used-car inventories as well.

If you find the sales manager to be a total hardass who raises his voice and manages through intimidation, then walk. You will be better off.

Most car dealerships will ask you to fill out the standard applications for employment. Then, either a sales manager, general manager, or both will interview you. Every aspect of the interview is a test. You might be kept waiting for an interview, simply to see if you will approach the reception desk and forcefully inquire about the delay. Taking such an approach is considered a plus, as it shows a lack of patience.

You probably got into sales because you’re a people person, and you love engaging in a good conversation. Top salespeople don’t just talk, though — they listen.
