Come backs are never good. People who come back for something more economical in a short period of time are bad things. It means you didn’t get it right the first time. It means you didn’t ask the right questions. It means you fucked up for the deal, and instead of a happy return customer, you’ll have explain the intracacies of depreciation in the parking lot. It’s not a pleasant experience. So get it right the first time, every time.
I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants here, and have been so focused on visibility that I haven’t been looking directly into our sales funnel and how it works. While I’m a statistical monitoring junkie, my overall strategic thinking has been so focused on web promotion and product production that I’ve been forgetting about the thing that’s actually going to keep us afloat: sales!
Each step of the customer buying process, like watching automotive videos or searching for images are vital “micro-moments” that marketers should take advantage of every step of the way. These moments push a customer to eventually choose a particular vehicle and then visit a dealership to check it out in person – the ultimate goal of the automotive marketer. Imagine what Joe Girard, America’s greatest car salesmen, could have done with this data!
Cons: Owners are douchebags who social climb by brand. C Classes are fucking glorified taxis. WAAAAAAY overpriced. Terrible warranty. Maintenance on everything is ridiculously expensive. Other MB owners assume you’re part of some elite club. More marketing than substance.
Search Engine Marketing is one of the most valuable advertising options available. Where SEO can take a lot of work and not be guaranteed, SEM and specifically Google Adwords can guarantee you a position within the search results, it’s just going to cost you. But with the right strategy you can minimise the cost you pay per click and provide a better return on your advertisement. A real benefit of search engine advertising is that you can manage your budget daily, access reports to evaluate its success and produce real-time advertising.

According to the Princeton Review, college coursework in finance, and public speaking is becoming more common.
Whether you do up a few cars a year as a sideline or run a dealership, you’ll sell your autos a lot more quickly if you put some time into developing a marketing strategy. Motoring enthusiasts won’t know you’re there unless you shout about your offering, so spending a bit of money on advertising could have cars rolling off your driveway or lot a lot faster than they currently are.
No.4: Most dealerships start with generic newsletters – one version sent to all prospects – because it’s easy to do. That’s a great start. But over time, you should use the tool more creatively and learn to segment and personalize those newsletters. It will have a big impact on results.
Organic reach is the number of people who see your posts when you publish. For example, you have 5,000 “likes” on your page, but only 150 people on average see your posts. That’s only 3% reach, which is about average these days.

Follow up question- when the “come back” happens from the service department, does the service department charge their regular retail rates? I imagine pushy sales reps needing to argue with sleezy service department managers over the bills 🙂
Automakers such as Toyota and Nissan have decided to tone down the appearance of their human models in Geneva, marking a potential sea change for an industry that has long pandered to male customers.
The marketing environment is making a hard shift. It’s moving away from fragmentation to consolidation in products. The winners? Dealers who can use technology differently within a newer operations model that combines different functional roles and simplifies time-wasting activities.

A study from Bazaarvoice showed that 7 out of 10 customers who left a negative review felt differently about a business after receiving a response to their review. And those are the people who had the poor experience; not just the ones who are reading about it online, so it’s very likely this small change in handling reviews can make a big difference in how people perceive your business at first glance.
For example: Don’t assume that a car has a certain feature that you want. I once was showing a midsize sedan to a guy who came into the dealership without his wife. We went on a lengthy test-drive, and then he bought the car. I didn’t know it, but he and his wife were going to use the car for long road trips, and because of his bum knee, his wife was going to do most of the driving.
Be authentic. Don’t just put on a happy face to make a sale. Actually care about your customers’ needs and sympathize with them. Customers will likely be able to tell if you dislike the part of your job that involves interacting with customers, or if you’re trying to speed them through “meet and greet” so you can start showing them cars. Be patient and don’t force any decision on your customer.

On film and TV shoots, there are rarely leftovers. In fact, good food stylists often compete with the caterers: Actors usually have to eat the food during their scenes, and the crew finishes off the scraps. While shooting a Chinese New Year scene for the show Fresh Off the Boat recently, actress Lucille Soong told Oliver, who was styling that episode, that she was going to skip lunch because she wanted to enjoy eating her food on camera. “That was pretty freaking flattering!” Oliver says.

The Meet and Greet might sound simple enough, but it is much more complex than you would believe. Within the first thirty seconds of meeting you, your customer will form an opinion of you in their minds.
When working on a movie or TV show, the actors’ demands usually take precedence over the food needs. After working on one film, Anderson had had enough and dedicated herself to commercial work. “When I do commercials, the food is the star,” she says. “So [the directors] want to make sure I have everything I need. On a movie, they could care less about you.”
Apply to your local Better Business Bureau for accreditation. The independent and used-car trade has a reputation for not always being as honest as it could be, so anything you can do to reassure your customers will help you market your operation. The method of applying for accreditation varies by state, but if you’re accepted, you may be able to use your BBB accreditation in your marketing materials.
